WASHINGTON (September 26, 2013) – Pending home sales slowed in August, with tight inventory conditions, higher interest rates, rising home prices and continuing restrictive mortgage credit impacting the market, according to the National Association of Realtors®.

The homeownership rate in the South was lower than the corresponding second quarter 2012 rate, while the rates in the Northeast, Midwest, and West were not statistically different from the rates a year ago.

Phil and I just watched Deepwater Horizon. A story set on the offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon, which exploded during April 2010 and created the worst oil spill in the U.S. history. Well worth going to the movie to see it.
